I’m pretty lucky. When I go out for a walk on my own, I don’t really have to worry about my physical safety. But women and gender-diverse people across Canada face a very different reality. In fact 9 out of 10 women take precautions when out in public to stay safe.

To symbolize this problem, we worked with the Canadian Women’s Foundation to create AwarePod, the world’s first earbud for women. It takes all the technology you’d expect in a pair of earbuds… and then cuts it in half.

Because women are always expected to keep one ear to the ground.
